Welcome to the Sweetwater Guest House. The perfect place to stay while staying in Livingston, MT. Enjoy the comfortable accommodations while exploring our town.
The main floor of the vacation rental includes an open kitchen, bar, dining and living area. Original brick walls and wood floors, large windows and historic molding create a clean contemporary feel.
Sweetwater Guest House resides in an 1890s common western vernacular commercial structure and is one of Livingston's last remnants of early logging and milling industries. Built and operated by one of the town's first entrepreneurs, Emanuel Goughnour, the space was first established as Livingston Lumber Company.
The Yellowstone River draws fishermen and fisherwomen from around the world. It is the largest, un-dammed and free-flowing river in the country. Brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout all inhabit the Yellowstone. The scenery alone is reason to explore the many miles of the Yellowstone River Basin. Rich and varied habitat provides excellent sub-surface and dry fly fishing.
Sweetwater Travel Company is located in Livingston, Montana. It was founded by the three Vermillion brothers – Dan, Jeff and Pat – and long time friend, Ron Meek in 1995 to build and manage 'best of class' fly fishing lodges around the world. Equally important to us was the desire to create an angling business that left the world's fisheries in better shape than when we arrived. That remains as important to us today as it was then.
"We actually have rented this property two other times so I believe that speaks clearly. Wouldn't change a thing other than add a tv to the den....(but in all honestly we are always so busy when we are visiting we aren't watching tv 😉) We will reserve again on our next visit to a Livingston!"
"We had a fantastic experience staying in this townhome. The home is in a fantastic location, the design is super cool and the home is well outfitted - the kitchen especially. It's rare to find a rental with a Wok, slow cooker and a full sized roasting pan. It's even better than the photos suggest. And the outdoor area is a great add - an excellent spot for an evening cocktail and barbecue. The bedrooms are tight but it's totally worth it for the overall experience."
Convenient location, perfect layout, cozy and historic feel
"We stayed at the Sweetwater Guest House while in town for a family members college graduation. The house was perfect for our family, with room to spare. We have a 5 month old so the extra bedroom upstairs was perfect for him. The house is stocked with every amenity you would need. The canvas prints and decor in the house are amazing. We loved the history behind the building and feel of the house is grand but cozy. We were within walking distance of shops, restaurants and coffee! Jen was nice enough to let us check in early when we arrived to town an hour ahead of schedule and is very responsive. Would highly recommend this for a vacation rental and we hope to come back someday!"
